The websites purpose, is for me to show others my personal battles and experiences and just how much God loves, protects, serves, fulfills his promises, and guides us all to Victory and Triumph. It's hard enough being a teenager and going through the inevitable; but it's harder when you don't go to Jesus, and seek his loving help and strength in the worst situations. With every word I speak, every action I go through with and every gesture I make, I wish that it all goes to the one who inspired and gave me the words to speak himself; God. For it is not myself who needs or deserves the credit, it's God. I'm only his light in the darkness of this world, and I pray that we can all start a Fire in not only our hearts, but others as well.
My favorite Bible chapter is Psalm 31; it was the time that I felt closest to God, and I'll never forget that experience. I was on my way home from seeing the movie, "God's not Dead" for the 3rd time in theaters. I had just gotten over a bad break up this same month, and I was very depressed, anti-social and even suicidal.
I was looking out the car window looking at the Stars when the name, "Psalm 31" randomly just popped into my head. I laughed in my thoughts thinking, "Alright God, haha, I'll go read what ya want me to!" Thinking it was nothing more then just a random thing my brain had thought up at the spur of the moment. When I had gotten up, I got my Bible out and looked it up and sure enough; I started crying.
Even as teenagers, some of us already have pasts and things we've experienced that bring us shame, regret, and depression. On top of the things we must do already, balancing these (what we think) never-ending feelings can shove us over the top of a cliff into a sea of doubt, confusion, and hurt. What we must remember is that we're all natural-born sinners. So is everyone around us; it happens, things happen. We're tempted. We fall. As much as we really try not to and strive not to, it happens to everyone ever since the fall of man with Adam and Eve. That doesn't mean that we're undeserving of Mercy, Grace, Compassion or Love from anyone, especially God.
"So go ahead put the past in the past, box it up like an old photograph-
cause that was then, and this is now." (-Josh Wilson)
At a young, or old age, we must always fight and not run away. We have to remember that we're not the things we were 10 years ago, 10 months ago, or 10 minutes ago. We're constantly changing and adapting to God's love and grace, and because of that, we have to keep moving forward and build God's kingdom here on Earth.
